FAQ

What is Monkey Tales Theatre?
We are a non-profit children’s theater group based in Saint Charles County, Missouri. Our founding members saw a need in our area for live stage performances geared toward children that would not only entertain but use audience interaction to teach valuable lessons on acceptance and responsibility.

How do I book a performance?
What kind of performances can I book?
We book at larger venues and events like festivals, schools, camps, and more. We also easily cater to smaller groups so keep us in mind for birthday parties, scout troops, and after school groups. Our performances can include a variety of hands-on activities including individualized creative movement or dramatic classes. Please contact us to make arrangements and discuss pricing.
How far in advance do I need to book?
A few weeks to two months depending on the type of activity and the level of preparation needed. For example, if we are putting on a new show we will need time to build the set, order costumes, and practice the performance.
Who is the target audience for MTT?
Children ages 5-12, but we hope kids of any age will be silly monkeys and laugh it up at our performances.
Are children the actors in the play?
Though our scripts encourage audience involvement and children are encouraged to participate, a team of adult actors will actually perform.
Is there an actual theatre?
Actually we are a traveling troupe. We go to venues like schools, art galleries, and festivals with a portable set and can perform in a variety of environments.
How long is each performance?
This depends on your organization’s needs. Our plays run from 20-40 minutes and are intended to be paired with a 15-20 minute educational activity. We can provide information on the activity if you would rather guide the activity yourself.

Were any actual monkeys injured in the creation of MTT?
No, they just laughed their heads off.
