Hero’s Journey: An Improv Epic

Along the way, this madcap, manic comedy illustrates character lessons in friendship, integrity, and personal responsibility.

King Botany’s Garden

The three princesses, Lily, Rose and Ivy, must show their father, King Botany, that they have what it takes to rule the kingdom of Flora while he is away. Lily and Rose are determined to impress their father, while Ivy is her usual quirky self. In Monkey Tales Theatre’s newest “autism awareness” play, we never hear the word “autism” and we realize that everyone is unique and can discover their own wonderful place in this world!

Past Imagination

Past Imagination presents a fun, new twist on the classic fairy tale, “The Frog Prince”. This play includes audience participation, silly antics and lessons as the maiden tries to rescue the prince from the evil troll princess.  Along the way, a dragon and two fairies help the maiden and teach important environmental lessons. The evil troll princess learns, perhaps, the most valuable lesson of all!

Prince Handsomely

His vain highness, Prince Handsomely, has met his match in Princess Marigold, a damsel who is definitely not in distress and does not need saving. Marigold and her faithful pal, Lion, do find the adventure they are seeking when they encounter Handsomely and his companion, Norbert, who are out to learn a valuable lesson. Handsomely finds the tables are turned when Princess Marigold saves the prince from himself!

The Boy Who Snared the Sun

Based on a classic Native American fairy tale, this is the story of Morning Glory, her little brother Eagle Feather and a dormouse who lived at a time when animals weren’t devoured by humans but ruled the earth. When Eagle Feather is making his usual mischief, it’s up to one of the smallest members of the animal kingdom to save the day. The performance will feature authentic Native American music and dance.

The Parrot Pirate King

Two great pirates compete to become the next pirate king in Monkey Tale’s performance of “The Parrot Pirate King!” Dastardly Gene and Gentle Henry need the audience’s help in trivia, games, and fun! There is a lot to boo and cheer about at this lively family play that teaches it’s what’s inside a person that counts and that a person’s differences, or disabilities, can actually be their gifts!
